Simple and Advanced mode

The AVADO Admin has two modes. Simple mode shows what most stakers need; Advanced mode shows everything.

The AVADO Admin can show you less or more, depending on what you need:

  • Simple (the default) keeps the screens calm. It shows what you need to stake and keep your AVADO healthy.

  • Advanced shows everything: system pages, logs, settings and all DappStore categories.

Nothing is switched off or removed in Simple mode. Your apps keep running exactly the same way. Only what the Admin shows changes.

How to switch

Use the Simple / Advanced switch at the bottom of the sidebar.

The Admin in Advanced mode, with System in the sidebar and Logs, Settings and Files tabs on the app page
Advanced mode: System appears in the sidebar and app pages get extra tabs. The switch is at the bottom left.

You can also press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows, Linux) and type "advanced" or "simple".

Your choice is remembered in this browser. On another computer or phone the Admin starts in Simple mode until you switch there too.

What changes

Where
Simple mode
Advanced mode

Sidebar

Home, DappStore, My DApps, Staking setup, Priority, Help. Remote Connect once it is installed.

Everything in Simple mode, plus System.

App pages

Setup and Overview tabs.

Also Logs, Settings and Files tabs, and the package version in the header.

DappStore

The main categories. Testnets, "The Lab", AVADO system packages, packages being phased out and helper packages are hidden.

All categories, and a search box that also accepts an IPFS hash to install a custom package.

Home, chain status

One line. Click Show details to see the epoch strip and peers.

The epoch strip and peers are always shown.

Search (⌘K)

Pages, apps, DappStore apps, help topics and settings. System pages and maintenance actions only show up when you type their exact name, for example "Storage".

Everything, including System pages (Updates, Storage, History) and actions such as restarting an app or cleaning up unused images.

If a link or a fix button takes you to something that is usually only shown in Advanced mode, for example an app's Logs tab, it still opens in Simple mode. You then see a short note that it is usually only shown in Advanced mode.

Which mode should I use?

  • Use Simple for everyday checks: is my AVADO healthy, are my clients synced, are there updates.

  • Switch to Advanced when a guide or AVADO support asks you to read logs, change a setting, look at disk usage in System → Storage, or reboot or shut down your AVADO from System.

You can switch back and forth at any time.
